THE DEVILS REJECTS (2005) - This Rob Zombie film is much better than his other HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES. It kept my attention all the way through. Captain Jack Spalding was also better in this one. They also used the old 70's music well especially Freebird. The film was kinda like a combination of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and if I dare say THELMA AND LOUISE. Also in the film are Priscilla Barnes from THREES COMPANY, Danny Trejo from DUSK TILL DAWN, and pro wrestler Diamond Dallas Page from WCW & WWE. The only part that I didn't like was the sheriff at the end.

Well, I didn't like this one too much (I had posted about it a few weeks ago) but I am thrilled that you watched it Scott. You are at least trying to straighten out...I wish you luck.
Loved this one. I recently saw "Southern confort", which is a Walter Hill / John Milius modern western that looks and plays too much like "The Wild Bunch" for its own sake, and couldn't help but think despite being quite entertainning it was a pale, superficial copy of Peckinpah's films. Rob Zombie, however, has managed to pull a "real" Peckinpah film off. Not only it copies some of the superficial traits, like the modern western settings or deliberately blurring the line between good and evil characters, but also shows a genuine interest for romanticising the bad guys, who, as Peckinpah's outlaws, have seen their times (the 80s, decade of the slasher) go by and who only have one thing left, to leave this world and became myths.
If Rob Zombie is as telented as he's been showing so far, he's gonna become real a big name, and not only in horror.
