Title: Giants of Thessaly (1960)
Post by: Scott on December 27, 2005, 12:22:58 AM
GIANTS OF THESSALY (1960) (http://imdb.com/title/tt0053861/) - Italy made many sword and sandal movies in the late 50's and early 60's and this is one of them. It's Jason and the Argonauts in search of the Golden Fleece. Like JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS (1963) without the work of Ray Harryhausen. In the film there is a perilous voyage, giant hairy cyclops, witch turn beauty, plenty of furious sword action, and Jason finding the Golden Fleece.

Picked it up as part of a 13 hour Italian Gladiator set distributed by St. Clair Vision that has 9 movies on 3 DVD's for $7.99. Here are the titles in the collection. Five of them I already owned.

Giants of Rome
Rebel Gladiators
Spartacus and the Ten Gladiators
The Giant of Marathon
The Last Glory of Troy
Giants of Thessaly
Duel of the Champions
Colossus and the Amazon Queen
Gladiators Seven

It even has some extras as a bonus:

Sword and Sandal Poster Gallery
Steve Reeves Bio
The Glory of Death

Uh-O!  After watching all of these Scott will be calling for a sword-n-sandle remake of Gigli!

Gigli....sound like the name of one of Herc's sidekicks.
