Title: Beat The Devil (1953)
Post by: Scott on December 30, 2005, 10:31:32 PM
BEAT THE DEVIL (1953) - This is a wonderful film written and directed by John Huston a long with Truman Capote as co-writer. The film stars Humphrey Bogart,  Jennifer Jones, Gina Lollobrigida, and Peter Lorre in a light comedy with colorful location shots and music. It probably inspired Fellini to make films. You will really get some good laughs from this one. All the actors and actresses were great. Can't believe this DVD cost only $1. You won't be dissapointed.

Peter Lorre and Robert Morley . . .
Lorre/Morley . . . Morley/Lorre . . .
(David Letterman joke)
Really a very odd little film.   Reviewers of the day didn't know what to make of it, and the producers admitted that they were sort of making it up as they went along as they'd lost rights to the original script.
Bogart is starting to show a bit of the cancer that would claim him soon --
Still, I laughed and was entertained.

Thanks for the poster, Scott. Of course, it has little, if anything, to do with the actual movie.
