Title: History Channel: Last Stand Of The 300
Post by: Scott on March 08, 2007, 11:53:13 PM
Tonight on the History Channel they had a 2 hour program which will be airing again twice this weekend called LAST STAND OF THE 300 (http://www.history.com/shows.do?action=detail&episodeId=214233) which is about King Leonidas and the 300 Spartans at the battle of Thermopylae. Very in depth program also covers Spartan life, Greek History, The Persian Empire, Greek Navy, and it even brings us the next phase of the Greek world with King Philip and Alexander for a couple minutes at the end. The History Channel likes to bring current history programs with releases of historic movie events like this coming weekend release of 300.

I really love this story.  After doing a bit of studying in both Ancient History and Mythology at a Tertiary level, I have to say this battle is pretty much my favourite Ancient war story. Plus it inspired "The Warriors" so anything involved with that is just awesome.
