Title: The Anthology already did it (Possible spoiler alert!)
Post by: Fausto on November 07, 2007, 12:34:21 AM
Have you ever seen a great twist in a TV episode, only to see it shamelessly copied in a movie? Looking back on some of the old anthology series, I've noticed that many of the twists and bizzare concepts of newer films were already covered by the twilight zone and others of its kind:

Episode                                                                  Movie

Are You Afraid of the Dark: Tale of the Dream Girl          The Sixth Sense

Tales from the Darkside: The Moth                              The Skeleton Key

Monsters: Pillow Talk                                                 Death Bed

Twilight Zone: The Living Doll                                      Child's Play

Granted, this is only a few examples, but I'd be willing to bet there are others.

The old X-men cartoon ripped off every successful movie from the 80's ... but maybe the comic did it first.

Numerous episodes of Boris Karloff's Thriller were the first to adapt writings by Robert Bloch.
