Title: Reefer Madness
Post by: Andrew on July 30, 2008, 08:30:36 PM
Reader review by Jimmi Campkin.  Want to have a good time, dance the Jitterbug, meet a nice girl that you can take home to mom and dad?  Stay away from marijuana!  It will turn you into a giggling maniac.

I've got the recent DVD of this that has both the B/W and colorized versions of it on there along with a Mike Nelson commentary track.  Funny, funny stuff.

The judge at Bill's trial is played by the same actor who played a judge in the Three Stooges short "Disorder In The Court".  So at least one actor from this had another movie under their belt.

Well, driving under the influence of cannabis is actually pretty dangerous. Don't do it, kids  :teddyr:

"And You Call Yourself a Scientist" reviewed Reefer Madness a while back and made two observations.  One is that, even though the film metes out horrible punishments to almost everyone who touches the noxious weed, Jimmy escapes poetic justice even though he killed someone.  More amusing, though, is the fact that the crooks in "Reefer Madness", stone-cold dope dealers that they are, never once collects any money for it.  Where can I find one of these parties where they're giving away free joints?

I never saw the original Reefer Madness, but I saw the musical and it scarred me for life.

Also, look up Billy Bailey.

This film is a cautionary tale: Never trust anyone claiming to be a teenager when they are obviously days away from a mid-life crisis.

I remember watching this movie on Starz or some other movie channel.  I loved.  I don't believe that it went anywhere.  I actually felt compelled to use "Mary Jane" after this movie.  It might of helped understand it a little more.

Later,

John

Oh yeah, Play the piano faster!!!!  :bouncegiggle:
