Name that video game ...
But just a few rules, please post a hint or hints, and after 3 days "post time", please tell what the game is if no one can guess it. You get 3 points. Please and thank you.
More - You can add Bonus Point questions if you want to as well. You can post more then just 1 photo of the same game "for extra help" if you want to, maybe even part of the box cover art ... have fun, keep it clean.
PS - If you want to guess the current game and lets say you get it correct but you don't want to post a turn, thats cool just wait for confirm and for your turn just type I pass and anyone can grab a turn.
I will will try to keep a point system. 1 point for correct name of game, and 2 points for Bonus Point questions.
NEW RULE
* Anyone can post a game photo, but the current guess photo has to be solved 1st.
NEW RULE
* If you guess 3 in a row you get the "3 in a row, good eye award" = 3 Bonus points ftw!
I will start with an easy one.

Good idea for a game.
Your game has to be Deja Vu. No idea what the character's name is.
Thanks Mofo, Correct Deja Vu ... The character's name was "Ace"
Your up Mofo!

Alright, not sure if this is going to be somewhat hard or very easy.
This entry into a very popular series is one of the very first PC games I ever played.

Bonus Point - What was the name of the villain who stalked the lead character throughout the game? You'd have to be pretty nerdy to remember it, I had to look it up myself. (Of course, the answer is obvious in retrospect.)
That's space quest 3!
And the villain's name is Vohaul. I think.
It is indeed Space Quest 3: The Pirates of Pestulon.
The villain's name was not Vohaul, though. That was the villain in Space Quest II. The Terminator-esque character in the third installment was Arnoid.
You're up next, Cthulhu.
Game points!
Cthulhu - 1
Mofo Rising - 1
(I'm sure we could keep a running total at the end of every successful post. Not sure it's necessary, but it might be fun.)

Civilization 4
Bonus Point question ... 5? max.

Correct on both counts! Although now that I think about it the bonus question was both too easy and ambiguous... I meant the strength of the unit, unpromoted, which is the answer you gave, so you get the points and the next turn.
Venomx - 3
Rev. Powell - 1
Cthulhu - 1

So:
Mofo Rising-1

Correct! I was afraid if I mentioned anything about the "sanity" system it would be solved in seconds flat, instead of minutes.
However, the opening line was actually by Edgar Allan Poe.

It is Elemental Gimmick Gear, a game I quite enjoyed playing back when it first came out. The backgrounds, which were all hand drawn were quite well-done for that time period. Nobody else I know has played this game.
The alliteration E.G.G. is a reference to the shape of the robot you travel around in, as well as the large threatening structure you must explore.
The point goes to Jim H, but I believe the bonus question was answered by Doggett.

STOP CTHULHU! YOU GOT THE ANSWER WRONG! YOU DIDN'T GET IT RIGHT!
Hold the phone. I like to apoglize since I miss understood what Cthulhu's answer was! The game is actually Navy SEALs: Weapons of Mass Destruction! The game was made in 2003 and it developed/published by ValuSoft & Jarhead Games! Here's the game and you'll find the picture I used here as well!

Meh...I think that would be too confusing. The name that movie thread is still going strong, and it utilizes the same rules as we do right now. I think we shouldn't change the rules
I say keep it the same way. It'll get confusing with pics on different pages and so many random posts quoting back and forth, waiting for people to answer.

I had this game, and just remember getting frustrated by having to fight in the arena constantly. Perhaps it was AD&D, and Commodore 64?
The game was released on the Commodore 64. However, the "gaming system" it was based on is something else. Andrew is pretty much spot on, although he was guessing it as the title.
The game title has not yet been named though.
It's Hillsfar!

Dungeon & Dragons?
Ultima III Exodus or Akalabeth? Maybe Wizardy lol ... I'm stumped.

Satan's Hollow from Bally Midway. Early 80's game. I pumped my share of quarters into it at the local arcade back in the day. Has some great artwork on the side too, of the devil holding a crystal ball. I used to play Midway's other quarter muncher,

Note they had to change the title due to political reasons? It's Rush N' Attack and not Russian Attack. I always liked the level with the attack dogs at the submarine pens. The game may have had an altered title, but the red stars and fur hats on the enemies let you know who they were.

That game is Mission Impossible 2.
Impossible Mission! I played hours of that game. The graphics look a little different than I remember, so it could be II.
"Stay a while! Stay forever!"
Ha, beat to it by Venomx as I was posting!
It's cool, You still get the points anyway because you said it's name - "Impossible Mission"

No. That's Thrill Kill, the game that was finished but never got an official release. It's for the PSX. That picture looks like it is running on an emulator though, with anti-aliasing turned on.
I won't be available today, so whoever wants it go for the next one.
* Please note, Anyone can post a game photo, but the current guess photo has to be solved 1st.

CORRECT! I know it might considered "cheating" to post a pic from a game that was never actually released, but I figured several people on the board would recognize it, considering how easy it is to download the files.

Archon Ultra is worth a look as well, it's an updated remake. Only problem is the light side is inarguably better than the dark side.

I'll do a google check and try and find it but I don't like my luck...

Yeah, I loved HOMM as well, although for some reason I couldn't get into part 4 (the last one I played of the series). Course, maybe it was cause I had a slow computer at the time, perhaps I should give it another chance...

I bought part V a while back. I could not get into 4 and 5 like I could in the first three either.. I think a big part of it is the greater emphasis on storytelling (which is not really any good) and the switch to a 3D world. The 2D world of the first three is much more charming.

The character on the picture is not the main character.
I just want to be fair and remind again. The only rule this game pretty much has is please give us a hint or hints.
Example - Maybe the system or a year, even part of the box art cover would help.
I always ask "any hints? ..." after my guess, not to be rude but just to remind people of that small rule.
This way it makes the game fun for everyone to play. Please and Thank you. -Venomx

The protagonist of the game is a comic book character.
I think most of us are stumped ...
Well, all right...the year is 1992.
Okay, 1992, PC, guessed earlier it was a mystery type game and you say the main character is a comic book character. Don't suppose it's a game based on Batman or something is it?
I'm really stumped here...
I've even gotten a list of all the PC and Windows 3.1 games that were released in 92 and NONE seem to fit. Dunno how complete the lists are but still...

I have no idea on which Megaman that is off the top of my head...
Last photo looks like a PC game... but I have no idea.
Journey is correct!
I wish I could give you a hint on which Mega Man game it is without spoiling it. Do take notice of the bird, and especially at what point he began to appear in Mega Man games.
The third game is on Xbox 360. It's also downloadable.
That's 'Beat', M.M. 5. With your clue, I had to think about it.
Still have no idea on that 360 game... however I'm sure someone will pick it up.
Correct on MM5!
One last clue: It's downloadable via Xbox Live Indie.
I figured it out. However, I'll give it a few days to see if anyone else can guess it.

Well done Venom, I thought I would take a sequel over the first one.
SNES rpg is famous for quite a bit of grinding. It also has a story that varies amongst the characters you can be as each has a separate goal with the quest.
Genesis rpg is a famous cyberpunk series that has a mix of fantasy and technology as well as a mix of east and west. There haven't been many video games released set in the world.
Thanks, man. I know the other 2 but I want to see if someone can guess them 1st.

I'm surprised on the SNES most people don't play it that I speak to even back in my teens. It is rewarding but tedious. I also like the way it works odd but different in that way that it gives a different taste from the usual.

There's a trick to know the pattern of the falling skull every time. You have to hold Up, B and Select on the title screen while pushing Start. Now in any shop game for every four games, the skull will fall into the 1st cup, then the fourth cup, then the third cup, then the second cup. Get unlimited $$ this way.
