Y'know I getthe feeling that the folks at DC are just kicking over the traces becuase they can.  Change for change sake.

I'd be willing to bet that this won't stick. Unfortunately.

Quote
"This is really what happens when a 27-year-old guy is behind a desk and he has to take instruction from a larger conglomerate with concerns that aren't really his own," Lobdell explains.

"Superman is arguably the most powerful person on the planet, but how long can he sit at his desk with someone breathing down his neck and treating him like the least important person in the world?"
Is it just me, or does this sound like somebody is really projecting?

Well, that answers that.

But say, it ain't so, Clark.

If he started at the Daily Planet in the '40s, when he was in his '20s, he must be in his '80s or '90s by now. Isn't it about time he retired?

It's not like changes in the comics are irreversible. Hell, they killed the guy 20 years ago, and that didn't last.

I'm over on Comic Book Resources a lot and at their forums.  The members there don't see to mind it too much and are quite curious to see how this will overall play out.

I have read said comic where he quits and the scene brings to my mind images and scenes from HBO's The Newsroom in a way.  I recommend you guys just read it and see what you think.  The plot point wasn't that big in comparison to the rest of the story anyhow.

Kent makes a point about major media news being too biased, and the desire to get back to the first love, telling the truth.
