At least 50 meters, maybe bigger.  Apparently walks in a bipedal stance like the '76 one.  The island also seems to have the stationary fogbank like the '76 movie.  This is turning out to be more intriguing than I thought it would.

I'm going to go with cautiously optimistic.

If there is one thing that has me worried for this movie, its that it looks like it might down play the sympathetic monster angle that Kong usually has.  He is a giant out of time.  The last of his kind (supposedly).  Some of our sympathy is supposed to be with him.

The movie almost looks to be just setting up Kong just for the KK vs G remake, instead of making a new real Kong franchise.

Say what you like about Kong 05, at least you could tell it was a creation of love for the original.

Still going to see it of course.

I absolutely LOVED the 2005 remake of King Kong.  Perfectly cast, and incredible CGI!

I don't know about that.  It seemed more like a creation of someone who hated the very idea of entertainment, much less the idea of a giant gorilla.  Awful, awful movie.  One of the worst.

Samuel Jackson?  I can just hear the dialogue now:

"I am SICK an' tired of this MUTHAfxxxin gorilla on this MUTHAfxxxin island!!"

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Kong, but I will watch this movie and the movie with him and Godzilla when they come out. I'm not all too worried about this film, but I am very worried with how the are going to do Godzilla vs. Kong.

What I'm worried about GvK is that it's two monsters that each have their own fanbase. There are a lot of people who love Godzilla, a lot of people who love King Kong, and of course a lot of people who love or dislike both. Having one get killed by the other is in my opinion a devastating alienation of one fanbase.

Have Godzilla die, and here we now have a bunch of unfaithful and sad Godzilla fans. And ditto for King Kong. If the filming company's as smart as I think they are, then I would imagine that they would come up with something for them to team up against another unknown villain or have some sort of "He isn't really dead" scenario, like some movies have been done before.

Another thing I'm worried about, is how do you pair a 50ft gorilla with a 1000ft tall radioactive lizard that spews atomic rays? Surely they aren't going to feed Kong magic berries like they did in the original, which was a downright B-Movie.

Sorry for going on for so long about this. I'm tired and I felt the need to say the three million paragraphs that are above me said.

That's a big monkey.

I just hope this is better than the Peter Jackson Kong.  It just seemed like far too often in that movie he wanted to spend time making Kong nice and cute and forgot he was making a movie about a giant monster.

Maybe I've become jaded and bitter, but when I watched the trailer for the first time tonight, I cringed just like I did when I saw the trailer for Jupiter Ascending. It is an obvious B-movie that they are blowing out of proportion to force it into a triple A-movie slot.

To think of all the worthwhile things that could have been done with the $190 MILLION budget....

Even Samuel Jackson looks bored and p**sed off at being in this.

Why not do a remake of A*P*E? At least that had the decency not to take itself seriously.

This new trailer plays up everything that smells wrong with this movie. Especially John C. Reilly, who is a very good actor with a habit of being in very dreadful movies (mostly ones with Will Ferrell).

Took my niece and nephew to see Fantastic Beasts last night and saw the trailer for this. Do have to admit that it did look good.

I am a sucker for King Kong, so I will watch it and most definitely like it. Basically, I think all versions had some merit on their own, regarding time of production, cheesy factor, etc. The first of course stands out. The 2005 one was a second when it came out, but to me it loses after repeated viewing.
