Title: The idiot is at it again...
Post by: Svengoolie 3 on August 06, 2019, 07:03:09 AM
In news related to video game entertainment that idiot is going to try to go after violent video games.

I predict video gamers will respond with numerous "trump skins" files to be added to various video games, along with sound files to go along with them.

Another out of touch old man blames video games for violence. So many studies have debunked a supposed link between these things but they're still going at it.

Hey, Trump, I have a better idea. Instead of cracking down on video games for imaginary violence, how about cracking down on the games that are just
thinly veiled casinos for children?

Remember when DnD was to blame?
Remember when metal was to blame?
Remember when rock was to blame?
Good times, except not really.
People have been giving scapegoats instead of acknowledging their mistakes, and that gets picked up by the media because hate sells.

SHOCKED!!! Shocked I am that anyone would infer such a thing.

Healthcare, including mental healthcate.

What don't they have in those countries?  Stores selling rifles,  gunshows selling guns,  easy access to guns.

And it gets paid for by taxing the hell out of people. Everyone screaming for universal healthcare will scream louder when we get it and their tax rates double (or triple). They don't "have" it . . . they pay for it.

The average american pays about 20% of his income for heath insurance.  He faces deductible , denials, rate  hikes and cancelation every time he uses  it.

Universal healthcare would be covered by a 6% payroll tax and would have no deductibles,  rate hikes,  denials or cancelations.

BTW as a FU to the anti video game crowd I just downloaded the massive demo of "the surge" which is a dark souls themed game. Guess what? I'm  not  experiencing  any unusual urges to go out and hack people to pieces.

He's got more holes in his head than I got in my liver.

Actually video games do incite violence.....after my sixth run at Smough and Ornstein in Dark Souls on NG+++ in 2012, I wanted to strangle whoever created them.

OK,  the game i'm doing the demo of, the surge, is a SF version of dark souls. Might want to look into it.

Nah,   if yoiu swallow the big biz line about how evil UHC is i'm  sure you got swindled.

So, I made $142,000 last year. At 6%, that would be $8,520. I paid about $5,500 (in PRE-TAX dollars) for a great health plan that covered both my wife and me. Paid maybe $2,000 more out of pocket for co-pays and prescriptions and tests and stuff (and that was also paid PRE-TAX on an FSA card). If someone else makes $25,000, they pay $1,500 at 6%. Not sure how this math works out. $1,500 will barely cover the cost of a couple doctor appointments and prescriptions and maybe a blood test or two. They tell you 6%, but if the government is involved it will be 20% and the biggest screw up you've ever seen. ESPECIALLY the first 5 years that UHC is in place.  And the more money you make, the more you'll be paying for someone else. I'll choose my own plans and pay for them myself thanks. If I want a cheap plan, that's what I'll get. If I want a plan with more coverage, that's what I'll get.
