Title: The Latest Remake Nobody Was Asking for.
Post by: chainsaw midget on October 11, 2019, 07:10:00 AM
They're currently in the process of remaking Face/Off.

According to what I've seen ...
Although a director has yet to be announced, it has been confirmed that Oren Uziel (The Cloverfield Paradox; Freaks of Nature) will write the screenplay, Neal Moritz will produce and David Permut (the original producer) will act as executive producer.

No mention of stars yet.  Considering the movie only worked because of the manic energy of Travolta and Cage, I would think casting would be the first thing they'd worry about.  Who can you even get these days that has that level of highend weirdness?

Honestly, I don't think there's one single remake that was called for. Maybe those movies from the 50's or something that aren't well known are worthy to remake, but redoing FACE/OFF is just another proof that lazyness and lack of imagination can still produce millions of dollars. It's sad.  :bluesad:

Why the heck would anyone remake Face/Off? John Woo crafted something quite insane with this, using Travolta and Cage in fine form. This is just silly. Maybe it's because someone grew up watching Face/Off and thought they would do it themselves, one day. It would be like me remaking Man With The Golden Gun. Silly.
