The entire concept of the Oscars has been swallowed up by self-important spiels of mutual-congratulation within an industry so out of touch with reality it is all but drowning in its own puke of ersatz righteousness.

Amusing commentary; it is worth noting that the focus of Oscars has shifted away from Western centrism.

Oh! And regarding "this year's list" ... I couldn't care less.   :teddyr:

Who watches this pretentious garbage anymore?

And the Grammy's are all about the dumbest buy the most. It's not good music. It's flashy generic sh1t.

Those self important films with a message will be forgotten in a few years, but junk like ROBOT MONSTER lives on and on.

The "artists"  who make this boring s**t just jerk each other off.

I'm sure millions of people like to look at  real   good   movies.   Just because we've developed a taste for a Cheezee Sheet Samich is NOT their shortcoming.

Yes to this.  We'll not get started on how the Grammy Awards are SH!T.

Bob, I'm just glad that South Africa won another Oscar for "My Octopus Teacher" which I will watch if I can get the Netflix password out of my landlords.

Their ratings are the worst they've ever been. They had less than half the viewers from last year.
And they deserve it. They pulled a dirty trick by switching Best Picture and Best Actor again. It was
obvious they were trying to exploit Chadwick Boseman's death for ratings.

Yep.  Though I'll say Hopkins I think deserved it.  The Father is an incredible performance.

John Houseman's story of how he supervised Herman Mankewicz's writing of the Citizen Kane script could be a movie in itself. :teddyr:
