I just watched Scare Package. I couldn't pass up that 80s style box art. I was a bit worried though as it was a Shudder Original and I haven't had too much luck with them. This is an anthology movie with some very short stories. None of them are actually scary, but there's a lot of decent gore (and some badly done gore too... and horrible werewolf effects.) The movie and gore are actually more comical than anything. It's not a funny movie, but it has a very light hearted fun feel to it. The majority of it feeling like some 80s horror movie you might have rented when you couldn't find anything else you wanted to see. My biggest complaint is the last story goes on for too long and tries to be more funny and meta than the others. It does have a nice cameo though so I can't completly fault it. I'd say it's worth checking out. |
