No idea the reason, but for quite a while the only way to see it was a dubbed VHS and even that was kind of rare. No DVD or even VCD. That might have been why you hadn't caught wind of it. It's a pretty entertaining film, not the best but worth a watch. Looking it up, there's even a blu ray now, maybe I should upgrade my VHS copy.
