And I really miss drawing. Title: Re: Things You Were Interested In...but not anymore. Post by: Alex on March 02, 2022, 05:53:36 AM Saving the planet. I still recognise that it is a good idea, but I just don't seem to have any enthusiasm for it anymore despite how passionate I was about it previously.

The last movie I saw in the cinema was Wonder Woman 1984 and that was in December 2020. :buggedout: Title: Re: Things You Were Interested In...but not anymore. Post by: ER on March 02, 2022, 09:20:44 AM Reading Joyce Carol Oates in my teens and twenties.

Me too. I drew a lot when I was a kid. I got an art kit for Christmas one year. Then about 7 or 8 years ago I bought a really nice set of colored pencils, regular pencils and chalk. I'd draw almost every night after work. Then I just stopped for some reason. I still watch art videos on YouTube once in a while. Title: Re: Things You Were Interested In...but not anymore. Post by: FatFreddysCat on March 02, 2022, 04:52:47 PM Collecting comic books. I was an absolute fanatic during the 80s/90s when I was in my teens and early twenties, but stopped paying attention in the mid 90s when I realized I was spending tons of $$ on comics but not really enjoying them like I used to. By the year 2000, I had sold off the bulk of my collection (nearly 5000 books) aside from one box of personal favorites.
I had a brief renaissance a couple of years ago when my then-ten-year-old son became obsessed with the new comic book shop that opened in our town. We were regulars there for about a year, but they weren't in business for very long and once they closed up, so did my renewed fandom. I like to say that I still love and respect the comic book as an art form, but I just don't have the time/energy/storage space to ever get back into collecting whole hog. Nowadays I occasionally borrow a graphic novel collection from the library to re-read some oldies but goodies and that's about as far as I go. I collected comics from around age 5 or 6 until around age 17. Then I sold them all. I'm back into it now, but I have a hard time reading most comics published after 1990. They just aren't fun. So, the great majority of my purchases now are Silver and Bronze Age comics . . . and some Golden Age for good measure. Title: Re: Things You Were Interested In...but not anymore. Title: Re: Things You Were Interested In...but not anymore. Post by: sprite75 on March 17, 2022, 11:47:18 AM Comedy - used to like listening to various comedians a lot but lately so much of it seems meh. With guys like John Pinette and Robin Williams being gone it just doesn't hold the same appeal it used to. I used to be really into Jeff Foxworthy and his redneck shtick but it just doesn't really appeal to me all that much anymore.
