It's funny how on the reviews there's people complaining that it's a knockoff of TOP GUN. I assumed that, by now, The Asylum and the whole mockbuster genre would be more known.

Thanks! I remember them from the Sharknado series, but I haven't seen the "Headed" shark movies yet.

Trivia
The first Top Gunner film was released to capitalize on the release of Top Gun: Maverick, but that film was delayed repeatedly due to Covid. This sequel was released to capitalize on the actual release of the much-delayed blockbuster.
This amuses me greatly.

Probably more than anything in the movie would.

I remember an interview with the head honcho at Asylum saying his version of Transformers (Transmogrifiers I think, it was a long time ago) had cost 1/100th of what the real film had cost, but he was willing to bet the original wasn't 100 times more entertaining.

All the stuff behind companies like these is quite fascinating to me. Take this piece of information, for example:

As of 2009, The Asylum's usual budget for a production was "well under a million dollars", and films would typically break even after about three months.

Say what you will about their movies, they really know how to turn lead into gold.

Glad to see The Asylum getting back into mockbusters. Was kind of burnt out on all those shark movies.

Agreed. I prefer bad movies where they set out to make a good one and it just didn't work out to deliberately made bad ones.

They recently dropped a trailer for what is their EndGame/ Multiverse of Maddness etc

Because we were all hoping for the Asylum Cinematic Universe

I think one of the youtube comments  nailed it.

"In Asylum fashion, every monster will have exactly five seconds of screentime in-between scenes of actors reading their dialogue in office rooms."
