Order of One (2006)

Some guy teams with another to find a magical sword however, their journey is interrupted by corrupt forces.

Canadian Martial Arts Comedy filmed with a budget of $70,000,00. This one went straight to DVD and for good reason: it's awful and painful to watch. As expected, the comedy is not funny. Most of the overlong fights are pointless since they usually end abruptly with a gory murder. Why go through all the trouble of fighting if you are going to kill one another anyway? I assume that is where most of the money went, into the practical f/x. While gory at times don't expect a gore fest or stunning handmade effects. They still look cheap.
The choreography isn't spectacular, just kind of average and tiresome. According to IMDb at least two martial arts stuntmen worked on the film. I guess they couldn't afford more.
Order of One was obviously inspired by Tarantino's Kill Bill and looks and feels like a Troma movie. If that is your kind of bag then check it out.

Intergalactic Combat (2007)

Aliens want the Earth's best fighters to represent the Earth. Or something like that. So Earthlings engage in a fighting tournament.

UK lensed Martial Arts "Sci-Fi" Action with cheap computer graphics green screen backgrounds. I guess they were paying homage to vintage arcade video games and Mortal Kombat in general. There isn't much plot and the fights won't rewrite fighting history. The choreography is much better then what Order of One had to offer though. Intergalactic Combat also feels more like a "movie". Well, more like a direct-to-video movie but apparently it had a theatrical run in the UK and US.
Most prominent name involved is stunt actor and martial artist Silvio Simac who has worked with Scott Adkins, Jason Stratham and Jet Li. That doesn't make it a better movie but it wasn't that painful to watch unlike Order of One.
