Well, off the top of my head -

The Battle of Fredericksburg happened on Dec. 13, 1862, 101 years to the day before I was born.
Pearl Harbor was bombed on Dec. 7.
Christmas and Hanukah fall in my birth month.
And the collision of the USS Lockwood with the RPS Santo Nino happened on Dec. 10, 1985.
I know about that one because I was on board the Lockwood at the time!

Let's see, in the month of December....

Jesus was born, haha. (Yes, I know...)

Hitler launched Operation Attila in 1940, cementing his control over most of France.

Prohibition was repealed in 1933.

John Lennon got murdered by a man who hoped to piggyback on his fame, therefore a man whose name we should never write.

Robert Mugabe became President of Zaire in 1987.

The Soviets landed a craft on Venus in 1970.

The Warren Commission began its hearings in 1963.

Nelson Mandela died in 2013.

In 2009 a gay marriage bill was voted down in New York.

Peter Jackson's The Return of the King came out in 2003.

Betty White died in 2021.

And the world failed to end as the Maya supposedly said it would in 2012.

Wow!

That was the scariest experience of my four year Navy career.  Stupid freighter nearly cut us in half, yet amazingly we did not lose a single crewman!
