The water I bought this morning has an expiry date 😳😳😳

Did it come in a plastic bottle by any chance?

Yes it did.

The expiration date is for the bottle starting to break down from what I understand.

Plastic bottles break down? That bastard Sting has been lying to us about how plastic takes a million years to degrade!

It is where the whole microplastics that are believed to be responsible for the decline in male fertility rates comes from (which is about the limit of how much I've read into it, so I can't answer any deeper questions on it).

I've also heard it's soy, brief style underpants, marijuana use, or a lack of full beards, which it's claimed triggers certain hormones to shut off resulting from your body's natural mistake that without beards you are all actually women. Me I think y'all are just sissies compared to your sperm-filled great-great-great-great etc. grandpas, whose manliness was expressed in fighting t-rexes off with clubs they whittled with their own teeth.

Well, we do have a gene that is decaying with each successive male generation and some many thousands of years down the line, males will be a non-viable lifeform. Enjoy us while you have us ladies.

The "biodegradable" bottle with expiration dates is a manifestation of recent years, plus, as Alex pointed out, the problem is certainly "microplastics".  Also, containerized water will reach a point where it is no longer potable.
