Title: Ken Russell's lost and often censored, The Devils (1971) Post by: Chopper on April 02, 2023, 11:52:32 PM I saw this on Shudder when I used to have it and I thought it was a masterpiece.
Russell's direction in it is so spot in. He uses a lot of very simple yet stylish ways of framing the actors and shots. And Oliver Reed was just amazing with his portrayal of a rather unorthodox priest. (You might remember Reed as the whacky shrink in Cronenberg's The Brood). Check it out if you can stream it. I would kill to get a hard copy of it but I don't think one has ever been made anywhere near North America. Cheers! Title: Re: Ken Russell's lost and often censored, The Devils (1971) Post by: Rev. Ken Russell could blaspheme like only a true Catholic believer can.

I need a get a region free DVD and Bluray player. My current Bluray player is a little Phillips Walmart special. It works great though! @RC Merchant, Good point man! I never even thought about how it ignited the nunsploitation genre. @Trevor, Awww! That stinks man. It's a great movie. Even controversial by today's standards. |
