Ok, am I crazy, or are these movies missing some scenes?

In Superman II, didn't Zod kill a little boy from the hillbilly town?  I remember a boy riding away on his horse to get help.  Zod let him get some distance away, then took the police car light from Non and threw it at the boy so hard it exploded.  All you saw was an explosion in the distance apparently consume the boy but, there was no question he was dead.

That does not appear in the version of Superman II that comes in the boxed set.

And where the hell is the first Nuclear Man in Superman IV?  In fact, where's half the friggin' movie???  Doesn't anyone else remember that Lex made a weird-looking prototype of Nuclear Man who fought Superman outside a dance club?  He was played by a different actor, with dark hair.  I remember Dark-Hair Nuclear Man somehow homing in on Clark Kent when he was dancing at a club with Mariel Hemingway.  A woman flirted with him, unbuttoned Dark-Hair Nuclear Man's shirt and got badly burned when she touched his bare chest.  The scene was very intense and really out of tone with the rest of the movie, which is why I remember it.  Superman blew up Proto-Nuclear Man after they tossed around some cars.  The goo that was left of him is what Lex shot into the Sun.  And I remember that, later on, Blonde Nuclear Man getting smarter and trying to use one of Lex's Black Market missiles to blow up Metropolis (or something, he did something with a missile).

Am I just crazy?

Wow that mentioned scene for Super II is quite cruel.

But the missing scene from Superman IV sounds really cool. A proto-Nuclear Man.

I've never heard of these scenes till now.

I got old copies of both of those movies(I love them and refuse to see the new one--at least until video) but neither of those scenes appear in either of those movies in my old copies.

you must have dreamed it--either that or(depending on your age)you saw the scenes in the theatrical versions and they were cut out when it came to home video--happens all the time.
God, why did some moron decide to ruin the Dukes Of Hazard with Jessica Simspon as Daisy? Yeaaaaauuurrrgggghhh--the HORROR!

ToyMan

and sometimes scenes that get cut out of theatrical releases and the home video releases are used on the television versions.

IMDb lists the scenes you mention in it's alternate versions page.  Did you see the test screening?  They chopped 134 minutes to 89.

Also see Superman II.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

Superman 2 used to be my favorite Superman film when I was a kid but not anymore.

Now, I think it is without a doubt the worst one of all.
Go HERE and read the first 2-3 user's comments.
They're quite long...but they totally spell it all out.

Plus, I think Superman 2 has the most dated look.  It looks like it's from the 80's so bad.  The other films have some of that 80's feel but nothing like Superman 2 does.

I actually think that Superman 3 and 4 are better films than part 2.

Very interesting.  Mom bought the boxed set and watched them all before lending it to me, and she also asked if I remembered there being two Nuclear Men.

The IMDB says that a small boy was killed trying to flee in Superman II, so I'm glad I'm not imagining things.

I actually like Superman IV (even the truncated version) the best, in terms of pure enjoyment.  I've never really cared for the first one and, viewed through adult eyes, the second one isn't much better.  And the third ... it has some moments but, overall, it's just a bad comedy.

I never knew that Donner's film was completed, I always thought he was canned part way through.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.
