Dr. Whom

Recently picked up from the bargain bin: Double Dragon. It caught my eye, because it has both Alyssa Milano and Mark Dacascos it it. Never thought I’d see those names together.

As a film adaptation of a video game, I’ve seen worse, though that's not saying much.I can imagine that you may like it if you see it in the right mood at the right age. It has some vague Disney cum Power Rangers feel to that can conceivably appeal to some people. Robert Patrick is having a great time as the villain, one of the silliest hairdos in movie history notwithstanding. And there is a cameo appearance of Pluto from The Hills Have Eyes.

Even Mark Dacascos shows some acting. Problem is, his martial arts skills are completely wasted. The fights barely rise above Power Rangers level. He never gets to show the kind of mastery and grace of, say Drive. And Alyssa Milano doesn’t get nearly enough screen time.

"Once you get past a certain threshold, everyone's problems are the same: fortifying your island and hiding the heat signature from your fusion reactor."

Wenn ist das Nunstück git und Slotermeyer? Ja! ... Beiherhund das Oder die Flipperwaldt gersput.

I love this movie, in all it's terrible glory!

'Air mail!!!'- How can you go wrong with a fat postman, jumping off a silo screaming that in the middle of a fight scene?
