I just bought this DVD and WEREWOLVES ON WHEELS, which are both available in high-quality widescreen editions.

THE LOSERS is a bizarre Vietnam-era movie that involves hippy bikers being recruited by the military to rescue a CIA operative who is being held captive in Cambodia!

The bikers names are Link, Speed, Duke, Limpy, and Dirty Denny.  They customize their motorcycles with armor plating, machine guns, and artillery and then launch an assault (complete with fiery explosions and bloody, slow-motion machine gun deaths) on the prison camp.

As unbelievable as this movie is, it is still a lot of fun and has a stellar 1970s exploitation movie cast (William Smith, Paul Koslo, Adam Roarke).  It was directed by Jack Starrett, who also gave us RACE WITH THE DEVIL and several other low-budget action favorites.

I haven't watched WEREWOLVES ON WHEELS yet, but I'll probably comment on that one before the end of the weekend.
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Are they going to put PINK ANGELS on DVD? That is to bikers what BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN was to cowboys.

Man, I would like to this again. I saw it when it was first released at the drive-in.

William Smith is actually an interesting guy, you should check out his entry in Wikipedia. He actually had a Masters in Russian Studies and taught Russian at UCLA. He also had a entry in the Guinness Book of World Records for weightlifting.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

This movie sounds pretty cool. I'll definitely have to check it out.

THE LOSERS will be on my list along with WEREWOLFS ON WHEELS.

I might have to watch and review two unseen biker films from my shelve now that Burgomaster has revealed his latest biker films.

Scott:

THE LOSERS is pretty entertaining . . . but don't put WEREWOLVES ON WHEELS too high on your list . . .

I have to see it just for the title alone. : )
