THE HEAD HUNTER (1983) - Nice little Hong Kong action/drama B-movie starring Chow Yun Fat when he was younger. The story is about a Vietnam assassin who escapes the war and begins work for a Hong Kong crime boss. The film starts out with Fat running through the jungle escaping government soldiers only to bump into someone carrying a head and a machete. He also leaves his buddy behind to the mercy of the enemy. While in Hong Kong he tires of killing and starts to like this reporter that the crime boss wants dead. Well, not only does the crime boss try to kill off Fat, but his buddy from Vietnam comes looking for him with his machete in the big city for a finale showdown between the 3 elements. Check this out you might enjoy it. You can't loose on this two for one $1 DVD distributed by eastwestdvd.com. The other film is called Ninja Champion which I haven't seen yet.

SPOILERS......SPOILERS.......SPOILERS.........

It's not going to spoil your viewing, because you probably won't even find this $1 cheapie and if you did you probably wouldn't buy it unless you knew the whole story, so to continue our hero manages to kill off his two seperate adversaries in the same scene only to be killed by the girl he loves.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  That would be worth the whole movie.
Kneel before Dr. Hell, the ruler of this world!

Well, you see our hero unknowingly killed her father and as the crime boss reveals at the end. So his Vietnam buddy dies, the crime boss dies, and then our hero dies all in the last 2-3 minutes. I thought for sure they would walk away together after all that.

The movie isn't as bad as the THE HEAD HUNTER link makes this out to be. It's not boring and manages to keep your interest. You even get some b-movie type gore.

This is in the Kung Fu 50 pack, which is carried by Best Buy and other major retailers.  So it's actually pretty easy to find.

I haven't gotten around to watching my copy yet, so I dunno if it is dubbed or subbed, or anything about the image quality.
