THE WEREWOLF OF WASHINGTON (1973) - This is a very fun Werewolf film starring Dean Stockwell as a press secretary to the President of the United States. The movie starts off with some good opening credits and narration. Then you have Stockwell getting bit by a something along the road in Eastern Europe and he ends up killing the creature only to find out it was a man. He is real remorseful and confesses the crime to authorities, but nobody is listening and  they let him go. He gets to America and when the moon turns full he transforms into a Werewolf.

This is were the story follows the Chaney Jr. version of THE WOLF MAN (1941) as he tries to tell associates that he turns into a Werewolf. He even tells the President and nobody will listen or believe him. This is what I love about all good Werewolf films is that tormented Werewolf tries to tell everyone, but nobody listens and thinks he's insane or having other problems. It's just to funny to me. Even the Lon Chaney version is funny to me. Gets me everytime.

Anyway Dean Stockwell's transformation scenes are really crazy. You have to see him as he grows hair and when fully turned he runs around the living room and other places like a dog. The one scene where he attacks this woman in broad daylight at a gas station is too funny as he follows her by hanging on top of her car.

Another great aspect of this film is that it's like DR. STRANGELOVE (1964) in the other comedy moments. The dialogue will really remind you of DR. STRANGELOVE (1964). The scene in the situation room with chiefs of staff and generals as he starts to turn into a Werewolf is too funny and the scene in the White House bowling ally. Then the  scene were he goes into the basement of the White House (or was it the Pentagon) and he briefly meets Dr. Kiss and they become friends while in the background you see a Frankenstien type figure on a table.

Perhaps this film is overlooked because it was intended to be a comedy, but it's some how more than a comedy. No it's not a great comedy, but it's surely a memorable one as the Werewolf fights it out with the President of the United States towards the end of the film. This is a must see in my opinion.

This film pre-dates AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (1981). Anybody see THE WEREWOLF OF WASHINGTON (1973) ?

Okay, Scott,  your help here:
The same people here who did/do "Werewolf of Washington", also did a very bad video-tape movie called "Werewolf of Woodstock", that maybe 3 people have ever seen.
The same crew went out to where the stages of Woodstock Rock Festival were still standing, in '69 or '70, and filmed a werewolf movie there wherein this werewolf chases people around in a jeep.
You can find a single-sentence mention of it as existing on various sites, but where to find the fllm itself???
help meeeee.  . . . helllppp mmmeeeee!!!!  ....(dissolves to Fly . .)
