I really need to get back to posting reviews on here.  I've watched quite a few films lately....just too lazy to post.  Here are a couple:

Don't Go In The House

Heard about this one a while back and decided to track it down before Halloween.  Finally got around to renting it from Netflix a few weeks ago, and the film turned out to be quite good.

The story follows Donny Kohler, a 30 something guy who still lives with his mother.  He returns from work one night to find his mother dead in her bedroom.  He instantly looses his mind, and starts hearing voices and such.  Soon, we see that Donny was abused by his mother as a child.  She would burn him to get the "evil out".

Donny decides to buy a fire-proof suit and builds a stainless steel room in his house which he uses to keep women captive before burning them with a flamethrower.

The film isn't as graphic as I had always heard.  Donny's first kill with the flamethrower is quite well done considering the budget, and is chill inducing.  There's not much in the way of kills from there though.  The ending works well and involves some re-animated corpses (or were they?).

Does anyone know if there is more than one version of this film?  It's quite good, despite a huge amount of disco music, but I felt like it was cut.  Any info on that would be much appreciated.

The Intruder

Intruder is another slasher that I've been looking forward to for a long time.  It was directed by Scott Spiegel (Skinned Alive, Dead Next Door) and stars Sam and Ted Raimi among others.

The film is about a small town supermarket which is closing for good.  One of the female employees has an ex-boyfriend show up who just recently got out of prison.  He attacks her in the store and is promptly thrown out.

Soon, people are getting slaughtered in the most graphic of ways.  Is it the ex-boyfriend killing everyone, or someone else?  Who cares!?

This one was "decent".  The kills are good, and inventive, but the acting was well under par.  Spiegel gives some great shots in the film, but some...such as a scene shot from inside a phone....don't exactly work.  It's a better slasher than most of what was released at the time, but not really anything worth seeking out.

That's it for now.  I'll try to post some reviews of Monster House (great!), Cars (meh) and Mission Impossible III (haven't seen it yet) soon!

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.
