Any Futurama fans out there?

...If you're NOT, I honestly don't care--and I'm not about to read some thirteen-year-old egomaniac's desperate attempt to get a rise out of me. Sorry. I'm just passing on this information. If you ARE a fan, you're probably the same sort of fanatical, super-defensive, Star-Trek-level psychotic geek-fanboy most Futurama fans are (Hi!). And you probably want to see this from Futurama Scan Art Central (http://www.scanartcentral.net):

"February 12
The End Of The Show? Updated : 6:42 AM GMT

Futurama hasn't been picked up for a fifth season, as to the reasons why, that's up to the FOX Executives who made this bizarre decision.

I don't think us the fans can let this lie as it is, so if you live in the USA and really care about the show (the address : Futurama, P.O. Box 900, Attn: Futurama, Beverly Hills, CA 90213-0900), send in letters like there's no tomorrow, asking why and for them to change their minds; getting mad at them won't help, so keep them polite.

The rest of us can all use FOX's official askFOX e-mail address which is askfox@foxinc.com to make our opinions on this known.

Keep abreast of the situation at Futurama Scan Art Central, or Can't Get Enough Futurama (http://www.gotfuturama.com). It might just be a fluke--there are enough unaired episodes left over from this past season that it might be a hiatus, the cancellation is not official at this point--but if you love it, be ready to write.

(Sigourney Weaver just did a fantastic guest spot as the voice of the lovesick Planet Express Ship this week.)

Good Luck.  I love futurama and will write in, but FOX has been trying to kill it since it first came on.  Sunday 6:00 CST?  What the hell kind of time slot is that?

I agree. The show was never given a chance. Fox must have been trying to kill it, the way football games continuously infringed on the time slot they stuck it in. I used to watch Futurama regularly, but I stopped early in the 2000-2001 season, because it was never on, starting with the season premiere. When they schedule a Sunday night of season premieres, and only show the ending of one of them, there is a problem. The football announcers were actually plugging the season premiere of Futurama, well after it should have started. It didn't take too many weeks of that for me to get completely fed up. Even when the game ended in time, Futurama usually took a back seat to the tail end of another game nobody  had seen the first three quarters of, or a half-hour of comentators talking about football. I just stopped watching, and didn't come back, even after that football season ended.

According to IGN, the crew of FUTURAMA has ceased work and the show will run out with its thirty unaired episodes.  Too bad.

THE SIMPSONS has been renewed for several seasons.  Matt Groening has also said that he won't wait for the series to end before making a movie.
