THE ILLUSIONIST (2006) - It's very nice to see an original film concept for a change and they did a good job with THE ILLUSIONIST (2006). It's the story of childhood sweethearts who belong to different social classes. The boy and girl are forced to stay away from each other. With the girl all grown up and about to marry the prince (and future king) of Austria and the boy who dissappeared for 15 years and travelled the world. They are about to meet again when the boy who becomes a gifted magician is performing in Vienna and the royals are attending the show and the girl gets to go to the stage to be part of the evenings show. The magician suddenly recognizes her. The prince wants to know how the magic is done, so he's invited to a private performance with the aristocrats including the prince. Thing get involved from there and you'll just have to see the film.

Yes "The Illusionist" was excellent and if you liked it I'd also recommend you see the The Prestige

This one is on my to-do list.

One of my friends is a professional magician and he thought that the movie was good though he thought they could have done more with the magic segments.

Is a good film but I think that the prestige is even better: better actors, better script...and scarlett johansson

Thanks Caronte. Now THE PRESTIGE really has my interest. That's two votes.

The Prestige is one of those films that you might figure it out if you pay close enough attention, which I didn't the first time I watched then the 2nd time I watched it I was like ... oh yeah, missed that little tidbit first go around. And it was a good the 2nd time as the first.
