Oh this weird, supposedly there's been a lot of rumors going around Jamie Foxx might play Two Face in the upcoming Dark Knight (aka the sequel to Batman Begins film.)  Other sources though say Jamie isn't interesting in doing a superhero movie.

Frankly, I just can't see it.  And no, not cause Jamie's black, I mean, he was a kickass actor in Ray, but I couldn't see him pulling this off.

It's probably just a silly rumor though.

Here's the article if you're interested.

Those teeth of his could play the role on their own, and probably do a better job. Just saw him in Dreamgirls the other day, playing a thinly veiled version of Berry Gordy, nothing special in the acting department in an overrated movie.

Still he's better in dramas than he is in comedies.

Like anyone else, if he plays it straight, he could be a kickass Two Face but if he camps it up like Tommy Lee Jones did, I'll be p**sed.  I think, due to the tone of the first Nolan Batman film, he'll likely play it straight up.  I think he'll do alright.  I'm at least willing to give him a chance.

im not racist but why the hell would you cast a black guy for a character who was white? same goes for kingpin, why was he black? and the honeymooners? again im not racist its just, well do you see a white guy playing blade? or a white guy playing ray charles? nope.

I'm not sure about Harvey Dent's portrayal in the comics but in Batman '89 Harvey Dent was indeed a black man (Billy Dee Williams).  In the animated series, big bad Harv was also a black man.   I'm not sure if I would consider any of them "cannon" but I liked the animated Two Face way better than anything portrayed in any of the RL movies so far.

I'm less concerned by the race of the actor playing a fictional character, than just not a real fan of Foxx in the first place. If Delroy Lindo were a little younger I could see him playing the role, he's played calm and irrational characters both very well. Are Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent supposed to be roughly the same age, or could an older actor play the role as a kind of mentor to Wayne before the change?

I knew about Williams in the 1989 version, never was sure of the race of Dent in the cartoon, I had only a vague familiarity with the character being mostly a Marvel reader. Then again I wondered if Lex Luthor was supposed to be black in the 90s cartoon of Superman. Just the way he looked on my TV maybe.

Kingpin was a unique case.  Frankly I loved Michael Clark Duncan as Kingpin.  I though he carried the role extremely well, better than any white actor I know of could.  I am aware that Wilson Fisk is very white int he comics, but only Michael Clark Duncan had the imposing manner that characterises the Kingpin.  There is no one else I would have rather seen in the role.

That's my two cents.

I would be opposed to Foxx taking the Dent role, but not on th basis that he's black.  I had no problem with Billy Dee's portrayal back in '89, so what would it matter today?  Of course that was  then, and the Nolan series is different.  All that matters to me is that the person who gets the part portrays the character right.  Luke Duncan in Daredevil.  Not the best script, but he was a great Kingpin.  I wouldn't have casted anyone else myself.

Ethnic changes in characters don't mean much to me unless they jeaporadize the identity of the character.
