Of all the weird, sick, and disturbing movies I have ever seen (and i've seen alot) this is numero uno on my list. The movie is about a reporter trying to find out what happened to some colleagues that disappeared while filming a cannibal tribe. The death scenes with the people, while fake are very realistic in the style of Faces of Death. But what makes this movie truly sick is the very real, very living animals that they torture, cut up and kill and the camera never fails to try and get every sick moment of it. The scene with the turtle is one of the sickest things I've ever seen.
Like many people on this forum I have a need to shock my self, me and my friends used to watch the whole Faces of Death series at party's. And while I know that Faces of Death had some real killings in it especially the animals, I found those movies far more bearable than this one. It was just the graphic and very personal way they filmed the killing that made this movie rather unbarable for me.

I had read a lot about this film before going into it, so I guess my expectations were a little high. The movie didn't really shock me in any way.

However, being the animal lover that I am, the scenes you describe involving animals being killed were the only parts that made me not want to watch.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Iv'e never seen the movie, but I worked on lotsa hog farms, and the killing ,gutting and butchering of pigs is not very disturbing to me.If it was a dog,or a cat,I'd freak. And what they do to minks and foxes on a "mink ranch" I worked on in Marcellus(mich.) is just plain evil.I quit that job quick!

I saw and I was disturbed. It was too much for me because I am a animal lover.

If you buy the newest special edition of it, it gives you the option of watching a version of the movie with the animal cruelty edited out but all of the rest of the movie's graphic violence left it.

I've seen Cannibal Holocaust 3 times and you're right...the animal deaths are hard to stomach.

The turtle death is the worst.
That's some sh*t you can't unsee.  It gets stuck in your head.
The really bad thing is that the actors appear to be enjoying the slaughter of these animals.

And the rape scenes are pretty bad too.

Blair Witch was wise to borrow from this movie.
The "found footage" aspect of it all made it worthwile and was what kept me watching.
I've read that this film is still banned in quite a few countries.

Overall, this is a unique and nasty viewing experience you won't soon forget.

Maybe I'm desensitized but I never got disturbed by Cannibal Holocaust, the first time I saw it was when I was 17. The animal scenes didn't really shock me cause I kept in mind that it's a pretty mundane thing to see if you're in a jungle, have to hunt for food, or work in a butcher shop.
