The Burgomaster

Faye Emerson plays Dot Burton, an accomplice to a bank robbery who gets sent to prison after her 3 male accomplices escape and go on the lam with the loot.  This is a decent, low-budget, old-fashioned crime flick that runs about 1 hour.  It's full of fast-talking dames, crosses, double-crosses, and fun B-movie acting and dialogue.  The most ridiculous scene is when one of the bank robbers dresses up like a woman and visits Dot in prison.

The opening credits list an actor named "Jackie C. Gleason."  Sure enough, it is a young Jackie Gleason in the role of Wilson, the getaway car driver!  Hard to imagine Ralph Kramden as a tough guy bank robber . . .

This movie is included in Mill Creek's SUSPENSE CLASSICS 50 MOVIE PACK
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Captain Tars Tarkas

Is this the first film with "Lady _____" in it, as female versions of normally male characters?  (i.e. Lady Terminator, Lady Exterminator, The Best of the Lady Kickboxer, Lady Iron Monkey, Lady Enforcers, Lady Death, Lady Kung Fu, The Challenge of the Lady Ninja, Lady Mobster, Lady Dracula, Lady Avengers,  etc?)

(Maybe not, there is a Lady Robinhood from 1925  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0016002/ but that would only count if she really was a Lady Robin Hood)
