This is one that for the longest time i thought about getting, but having never seen it before I did'nt know if it was worth it or not. Well for those of you who are having the same doubts, let me tell you that those doubts are unfounded.  This, even though it is TRYING to be funny, is hilarious. Steven Martin is great. The Humor is VERY nonsensical. Think. "Mell Brooks meets Monty Python." Genius. 4 slimes for this one.

There's a flipper disc that I've been knocking around getting that has My Blue Heaven on one side and The Man with Two Brains on the other.

Sadly, they're both full frame transfers but I still think they're both great movies.

And I agree with your statements about TMWTB.

Pointy birds,
O' pointy pointy.
Anoint my head,
Anointy-nointy.

Like the spice Melange, the comedy in THE MAN WITH TWO BRAINS is pure and unrefined.  It works it's magic through the same kind of silliness that kick-starts a sense of humor in children.

To me, it has the feel of a Dick Van Dyke Show episode unbridled by sponsor inhibitions.

* Odd aside...George Gipe, who worked on the script with Martin and Reiner(as well as DEAD MEN DON'T WEAR PLAID, his only other film credit) wrote this great book called "The Last Time When...".  It's a cool title published around 1982 detailing the 'last time' something in particular happened, like the final Edsel to roll of the line or the last trip of the Orient Express.  I think of it as a collection of pop cultre swan songs.  It was a lucky find for me some years back in the used stacks of the Montclair Book Center.
That's my driver's license picture....I hate that picture!"
