has anyone seen this? Jet Li's not in it- that's the sequel.

maybe I'm biased cause I like almost every kung fu movie, but this was amazing. I especially loved it when it got into things and there was a plot twist every minute or so. the effects are surprisingly good. I love every scene where something inexplicably explodes and I love the fights that feature "sword energy". the score is wonderfully cheesy, especially the songs. there's not non-stop fighting all the way through, but it actually has a great storyline. a Sacred Scroll is stolen from the government, and they blindly attack a man who recently resigned, figuring he stole it as revenge. whether he has it or not is unclear (not with my version's subtitles, anyway), but him and his men fight back with the help of a pupil who was sent to them with a message from his master. his master arrives early and is killed by government troops. he gives his pupil a message that is only to be told to his son: the location of the family treasure.

this movie's hilarious. like many kung fu movies, insane and inexplicable things happen in fight scenes that just make you laugh.

this is my first post here and I didn't read many of the other posts so I don't know if this is a standard type of post, but i'm going for it.

I've not seen it myself, but have put it on my "see these" list.  Kung fu flicks with weapons are always good stuff when they are done well.
