Plot-An alien is on the run in America. To get his kicks, it kills anything that gets in its way, and uses the body as a new hiding place. This alien has a goal in life; power. Hotly pursued by another alien (who's borrowed the body of a dead FBI agent), lots of innocent people die in the chase.
Very underrated 80's sci-fi/action movie.

I must have watched this one a zillion times on HBO.

My favorite part was Claudia Christian's dance number. :teddyr:

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

my favorite part is the car chase at the beginning. I really like the songs used in the movie too.

This movie turned me on to Concrete Blonde! I especially like the scene where the big guy/alien smashes up the record player for playing lousy music! :bouncegiggle:
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

"Bye."
LOL, yes. One of my all-time faves -- guess I'll have to pull out the DVD and watch it again tonight.

Torgo

My favorite part is when the middle aged guy who has the alien/parasite in him goes to "buy" a car. Gets me laughing every time.

I've got the flipper DVD that unfortunately has the god awful "sequel" on it as well. I just try to pretend that it doesn't exist.

One of the best 80s sci-fi / action combos, as good as "The Terminator" or "RoboCop" if you ask me. Jack Sholder has had his share of good opportunities later, but he never matched his ability here, and the acting from the main duo is also surprisingly good, given this is a B-movie.

And the sequel is crap. The only decent cinema it has in it is the first minutes, and that's because they are made up of recycled footage from this one.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

Oh man the sequel sucks horribly. I like how the back of the case boasts that it has mind-blowing special effects or some such nonsense. Give me the good ole original any day. Any movie that showcases a bit of violence after such famous quotes as  "I want this car"
or "I like this radio" is fine by me. And having mutant body-hopping space slugs is just icing on the cake.  :teddyr:

I liked the dance number as well!
And when he shall die
Take him and cut him into little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night,
And pay no worship to the garish sun.

I liked that scene where the alien goes into Claudia Christian's body and it's apparently the first time it's been in a female body, so it has to check out the goods  :teddyr:  It had some really good parts like the opening chase scene and that fat guy who wanted that car.  It had some slow parts too though.  I didn't make it past the first five minutes of the sequel, it seemed like they were just showing the entire ending of the first movie.
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

According to the IMDB, the first 15 minutes of the sequel are footage from the original. The sad thing is that when the real thing starts, you wish they didn't rip off the entire film.
