THE ASTRONAUT FARMER (2007) - Very good family film about a former Air Force pilot/potential NASA astronaut Charles Farmer who still wants to go into space. He builds his own rocket in his large barn in Texas and when he orders the fuel for it the goverment steps in. Many in town thinks he's crazy, some are for him, and the bank wants to forclose on his 355 acre ranch which puts his family in a tough spot. The movie stars Billy Bob Thorton, Virginia Madsen, Bruce Dern, and even Bruce Willis and Jay Leno have big parts.



(8 out of 10 Stars) Excellent family film for all those who have a dream.

Rocket fuel is just a combination of liquid Oxygen and liquid Hydrogen. Both can be obtained from water. Why didn't he just produce the fuel himself?

Or was he using a solid fuel rocket?

They did mix their own fuel, but you'll have to watch to see what happens.

My jaw dropped the first time i saw the tv spot for this. I havent seen it yet, but the trailer made it look like a b movie, but i guess it could be missleading.

Just watched and it was pretty good!

Not typical Billy Bob fare, it was safe for kids to watch and even the bloopers were bleeped and as always in the Billy Bob Bloopers he did Carl from Sling Blade, mmhuh yeah.

I'll give it 7 out 10 worth seeing.

Yep, this is a pretty good one CheezeFlix. One of my favorite films of the year.
