Chuck Norris is the worst actor ever.  That said, this was a pretty cool movie.  it had a similar theme as "Red Dawn" with better special effects and not as strong story and acting.  I can't rememeber which film  came first.  Also, if you haven't seen Red Dawn recently, check it out.  it will leave you fairly speechless in the wake of current events.  Especially when ferris buellers sister leaves the bomb in a soldiers bar.

This has some great explosions and gun fights.  It's not exactly clear why the US in being invaded and by whom and where the US army is in all of this, but it shows how messed up things can become and fast.  Especially when the invaders dress as US soldiers.  It's too bad they didn't have a real screenwriter.  Still it was pretty awesome in it's own weakly scripted and acted way.

Is this a remake of the 1950's 'red scare' movie? I'm a seeing a lot of similarities in your summary.
Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

It's commies, man.  Commies!

Definitely up there in the top Norris flicks.  1980-1986 was a golden time for Chuck.

Probably my favourite Chuck Norris movie (actually, the only one I like). The script is full of holes and Norris is in his usual manequin acting style, but the premise is so preposterous and the action so frequent that I can't help but enjoy it.

Stuff to consider:

- The U.S.A. can be invaded with as little as 200 men.

- Only Chuck Norris will realise the U.S.A. has been invaded.

My favourite bit: the couple having sex on the beach killed when the enemy soldiers disenbarch and march on them. "Friday the 13th" meets "Rambo".

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I was kind of shocked at how bad his acting was and how lame the script was.  I thought the whle package would have been alot more thorough.  I'm a Norris novice.

but it had a unique charm of it's own.  sort of

If you're a Norris novice you should try next the "missing in action" movies. The first one is rather boring, but the rest are so scheesy they're worth the effort.

Hammock Rider

If you want to see Chuck Norris at his best, treat yourself to "Lone Wolf McQuade". It's got David Carradine, Barbara Carrera and a "Hell Yeah!" scene with a super-charged truck. Also, I've never seen Chuck grubbier.

They've released all 3 MIA movies on DVd. The 1st one is by itself on a widesceen DVD.  The 2nd and 3rd one are available on a widescreen flipper DVD by MGM as well.
