I was thinking about posting some archival films from our collection which someone has uploaded to Youtube (not me) for your viewing pleasure / displeasure.

First up, we have Building A Nation (aka Die Bou Van 'n Nasie) from 1938: made to celebrate the centenary of The Great Trek and which had an unlimited budget for the time. This is used mainly today if filmmakers want to illustrate parts of our history which were not filmed.

Massive amounts of propaganda here but it is actually quite a good movie: SA's version of Birth Of A Nation.
