I just added the DVD to my collection and I have mixed feelings about it.

It's a cheap, campy "homage" to old black & white horror and sci-fi flicks.  It does have a few funny moments and horror fans will recognize some of the inside jokes (like a street named ED WOOD DRIVE).  But overall it was too dumb (and about 15 minutes too long) to be really enjoyable.

A mad scientist and his assistants (a British woman and a horribly scarred guy with long hair) go to Europe to dig up the body of the Frankenstein monster.  They arrive at Castle Frankenstein (in an SUV?????) and encounter an old gypsy woman (guest star Raven Dellacroix) and a briefly-seen werewolf.  They use an electronic device that can detect "resurrection chemicals" (sort of like a hand-held GPS system) to locate the monster's grave.

Back in the U.S., they revive the monster (on an operating table that looks like it was made from the webbed backing of a lawn chair) and send it to Blood Cove to battle a fish-man that escaped from the doctor's lab.

Meanwhile, a photographer, his assistant, a gay make-up man (who is funny for a couple of minutes and then just becomes annoying), and some models arrive to take swimsuit (and partially nude) photos for a magazine.  Of course, they encounter the monsters and the mad scientist and . . . well . . . I'm sure you see where this is going.

There is also a pointless scene in a strip club that includes guest stars Lloyd Kaufmann (!!!!) and Ron Jeremy (!!!!) as customers.

I bought this newly-released DVD pretty cheap (less than $8.00), and it probably gave me about $3.00 worth of entertainment.  So I guess that's not so bad.

Is this one of the almost-no-budget productions that you first heard about via Foywonder?  For some reason, the title is coming to mind with Scot Foy's name attached.

The big question I want to ask is how the film comes across.  I mean, does it seem like it is too no-budget?  You said it was too dumb, which is what drove me nuts about "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra."

No . . . I didn't hear about this from Foywonder.  I found it available as a pre-order on Deep Discount's website a few months ago and posted a message about it here.  I just got it in the mail a few days ago.  The budget seems to be very low, but I wouldn't call it "no budget" because they were at least able to afford guest appearances by Lloyd Kaufmann, Ron Jeremy and Raven Dellacroix.  It was shot on video, in black & white, and the make-up looks very rubbery.

Considering it's better than most sciffy "original movies" I think you're being a little too harsh on Blood Cove.  For what it is Blood Cove is a fairly decent DTV flick.  I'd love to comment further but I'd probably just end up repeating much of what I said in my review here.
