I thought that would be "Everybody Wang Chung Tonight" by, well, Wang Chung. Wasn't the video considered likely to induce seizures when viewed under certain lighting conditions. I liked it at the time, thought it was a clever use of rapid editing, but I now blame it for all the rapid cut videos that folloowed and all the stupidly edited movies that were spawned as Hollywood copied the style and as those video directors began to direct feature films.

"Cherry Pie" was the most unsubtle Freudian mainstream video/song at the time and for years to follow.

I saw Michael Jackson's Thriller video not too long ago, first time in like twenty years.  Watching it now, I wonder how we could all have missed the signs -- he was real nervous around the chick, and he did warn her that he wasn't like other guys.

you missed the signs? I was under the impression he was reduced to actually parodying (if that's a word) his own weirdness, even by that stage. his falsetto speaking voice was a major giveaway...

my only bugbear concerning Jacko's music vids is that Eddie Van Halen didn't appear in the video to "Beat It"...he really needed a cameo to run on and play that solo, then get the f**k outta dodge, pronto
