The Re-Animator discussion in Good Movies made me think of this and I wanted to persue it a little further to see what else we can come up with.

At the beginning of Re-Animator, Dr. West is feverishly trying to reanimate the body of Dr. Gruber.  It's only mentioned in passing, but Gruber's first name is Hans.  Alan Rickman plays Hans Gruber in Die Hard.

"Now I haff a machine gun.  Ho ho ho."

I only made this connection a little while back when I reviewed the movie at my site.

Also, one that still tickles me.  On CSI: Miami, David Caruso plays Horatio Caine.  Strange name.  In the extremely awful martial arts movie, Kill and Kill Again, hero Steve Chase and Kandy Kane set out to rescure her kidnapped father, Horatio.

What else is out there?

One of Hudson Hawk's enemies, a government man (I think) named George Kaplan, maybe under a false name! After all, George Kaplan was just an imposed alias in the recently discussed NORTH BY NORTHWEST! :teddyr:

For the latest on the fifth installment in Don Coscarelli's Phantasm saga.

Peter Johnson, of this board, uses the alias Denny Crane-which is the SPIRIT's (ya know...cartoon strip by Will Eisner?) alter ego!
In the VAMPIRELLA movie...a delivery boy is named Forrest Ackerman.
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)
Interviewer-"Does Dracula ever end for you?
Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

In Troll, the main character was named Harry Potter. Need I say more? :teddyr:

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Neville

This is a very weird one: In the original "Wages of fear", there's a short barreled man with a moustache called Luigi, and a thin one called Mario. Exchange their names and the fun begins.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.
