THE SLAUGHTER (2007)

OH MY, this is a fun B-movie!!!  Lots of splattery fake gore and a few fake boobies too, with wonderfully cheesy dialogue and a plot that borrows heavily from Lovecraft.  Here's the premise - a gang of college kids are spending their break cleaning and refurbishing an abandoned house to earn some money.  You have the stoner, the cowardly jock, the lovable slut girlfriend, the enterprising organizer, his whiny Marxist brother, and the organizer's equally efficient and businesslike girlfriend.  Throw in the obnoxious real estate investor who's paying them to fix up the house and his longsuffering administrative assistant, and an evil, demonic she-wench from hell, along with some 40 year old murders and an arcane ceremony that calls on Great Cthulhu to break down the barriers between worlds, and you have an incredibly aromatic slice of cinematic cheese.  Be sure to watch the Deleted Scene and Outtakes section of the DVD extras.  This one has everything any B-movie lover could want, rent it while it's hot!!!!

I saw this one in the store today and I admit it did look intriguing. I'll add it to the Netflix queue asap.
