The Burgomaster

I broke down and bought this set ($160 from DeepDiscount vs. $200 on Amazon!).  This is one of the cheesiest classic sci-fi shows in the history of television.  It has a very late 1960s look to it (the show takes place in 1983, where passengers fly around in saucer-type space ships rather than airplanes . . . I don't remember anything like that happening in 1983!)  This is a typical Irwin Allen production, so even if you've never seen it, you'll know what to expect.  Fans of CGI will cringe at the rear-projection effects, giant rubber hands, and huge props (pencils, matches, coffee cups, etc.)  But, hey, this show is 40 years old.  I watched episode 1 the other night.  Hopefully, I'll knock off a couple more this weekend.

Sigh...Land of the Giants...

I usta watch that goofy show as a kid all the time. I even had the Giant Rattle Snake vs. Man with a Saftey Pin model kit! Ahhh...airplane glue and monsters...!

Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

I can sort of remember this and another show I think made by the same people. I can't remember whether the other show was about time travel/invisibility/miniturisation or something else. There was a big spinning wheel like those "hypnosis" ones that the guy would jump in to. Good times!

I remember watching this all the time as a kid (in reruns). This is one of those shows that I was transfixed by as a youth, but as an adult I have a hard time staying interested. I don't know why that is...

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Yep that's the one. I remember both shows were on after each other on a Saturday morning. Was Quantum Leap based on Time Tunnel?

I think most time travel movies and shows had their base with HG Wells book the TIME MACHINE.
Irwin Allen also did the INVADERS,LOST in SPACE,and VOYAGE to the BOTTOM of the SEA,and went on to films like the TOWERING INFERNO and EARTHQUAKE!

Jack

Never watched it as a kid (we probably didn't get that channel), but I caught a few episodes when they showed them on the Sci-Fi Channel a few years back.  It was kind of good, had that cool '60s vibe going on.
