After listening to a couple of your selections, I went over to Pandora and created a Devo channel. I was listening to it when my wife and daughter came in. My daughter (teenager) stuck her head into the room and told me to turn it down. And this is after going shopping with her this weekend and having her ask for (and take!) my fashion advice. Something is seriously screwy in my household.

Have you ever heard Philip Glass' take on Bowie's Low?  His "Warszawa" is a real treat.  Though, I do appreciate that Glass is an acquired taste.

Derf, now that is a funny situation haha - I have a feeling my daughter will be telling me to turn my stuff down when she's a teenager lol. 

Yes, Kraftwerk, Juno Reactor, and the others mentioned are also great pieces of work.  I used to have some of each of those artists too but can't seem to locate them lately.  There's a ton of 80s/90s stuff that I'm just not thinking of, else I never knew the artist's name to begin with.  There was a club I used to frequent that played a ton of stuff that I've never been able to find since!  There's a lot of basic 90s techno I just don't know how to list. 

And yes, gotta love KMFDM!  I was kinda into the Nihil album for awhile -great song to come on after a few beers at the club.  And yeah, electronica/ambient is great for long interstate drives!  I find myself listening to AFX's Analog Bubblebath or Aphex Twin's Ambient Works II (in case anyone's interested, the guy in Aphex Twin "Richard D. James" is also the groups AFX, Polygon Window, Robbie the Robot, and a great many more -seems he changes his name once he gets so popular).

Ed, I'll have to check that station out -thanks for the link.  I've also found a lot of online electronica, scratch, cliq-hop, ambient, and nu-jazz on somafm.  We play the dark ambient channel in the background for D&D games just for the mood.  Pretty cool stuff. 

And David Bowe has some kickass stuff, especially the older stuff.  But I do like his "I'm Afraid of Americans" that he did with Trent.

No, but I am familiar with some of PHILIP GLASS' work and was aware of the Low Symphony.  I need to track that down.

Rev, we us a program called "Reason" that acts as a synthesizer(sp?).  It almost works just like a real one would (you can click a button and it shows you the back of the components plugged into one another just as they really would be).  It's got pretty nice range.  With enough patience and creativity, you can make some complex sounds and beats.  Anything you make can be converted to wav or mp3.

That's pretty darned awesome - to me it looks like an audience that's experiencing something unique for the first time -you'll always get some wild reactions.

Reminds me of Alice Cooper's first concerts in '68ish (way pre-black makeup era) and they emptied show after show because people just found them too bizarre.  We're talking "Pretties for You" era -an album that sold maybe 14 copies lol (but I love it).
