Hell yeah, the Death Proof soundtrack is amazing. It continues the excellent record of Tarantino soundtracks. It's about 1000 times better than the Planet Terror soundtrack too, which bored the hell out of me after the third or fourth rendition of the same damn Robert Rodriquez track...

"Don't make me stain my last clean shirt with the back of your head." - Shatter Dead
"A grizzly bear with a chainsaw. Now THERE's a killing machine!" - The Simpsons
"I've always wanted to make love to an angry welder." - Jaws: the Revenge

He seems to have a knack for finding that blend of music, doesn't he?  I wonder what the background is behind that angle.  Has he always liked it and so he has built up a library over the years (that he then goes and secures the rights for the films)?  Does he have an assistant whose job is to find music for Tarantino's pleasure?

My second idea may sound funny, but it's a lot less silly than these big actors you hear about with toady "assistants" who shadow them.
