EIJI TSUBURAYA : MASTER OF MONSTERS! 'Defending the earth with Ultraman, Godzilla & friends in the golden age of japanese science-fiction films.
2007 by August Ragone.

Great book, for all Kaiju fans.
The big kahuna of Toho's monsters. His intresting background, storied film life, and legacy, are well told here in.
Ragone has help, too, with chapters by Ed Godziszewski, Norman England, even a chapter by Akira Tsuburaya, Eiji's son.
Tons of photos, most behind the scenes. Its amusing to see pics of Eiji standing there, in hat and glasses, telling Godzilla what to do.
Two points of note. A pic of Gidorah with Rainbow colored wings and heads...
and the story of the octopus wrangler!

I knew it! That was a real octopus in KING KONG VS. GODZILLA!
They used four cephalopods for that scene.
The other three they let loose after filming...the fourth one they cooked and ate!
Must have been the best actor of the bunch...thats showbiz for ya'.

Flangepart reccommends this for the few who have not read it.
All in all, fun stuff for we kaiju freaks.

Looks like an awesome book. I might ask for that for my birthday in March.

It's a beauty!  I haven't read mine yet, but the behind the scenes photos are awesome.   Definitely a nice addition to the bookcase.
