I just bought this Al Adamson double-feature DVD crap-fest and watched it tonight.  It's a 2-DVD set that includes theatrical versions of both movies (full-frame . . . boooo!), plus an alternate cut of NURSE SHERRI, a deleted scene from FIVE BLOODY GRAVES (which is in widescreen and has good picture quality, even though the feature itself is presented in full-frame and the picture quality is slightly better than a VHS tape), some theatrical trailers, retro drive-in promos, commentary, and an interview with Marilyn Joi.

FIVE BLOODY GRAVES is one of the worst westerns ever (but what else could you expect from Al Adamson).  Throughout the movie, we hear ridiculous, philosophical narration from the voice of "Death."  Meanwhile, Richard Dix, John Carradine, and several other b-movie and/or washed-up actors and actresses slap each other around and fight Indians (remember, this was filmed in 1970 when you could still say "Indians" when referring to Native Americans).

NURSE SHERRI is about a nurse who becomes possessed by an evil spirit (she speaks in a man's voice) and stabs and hacks people with pitchforks and meat cleavers.  About 10 years ago, I owned a VHS copy of this movie under the title BLACK VOODOO.  According to IMDB, it has been released under 7 different titles (the opening credits on the DVD actually say THE POSSESSION OF NURSE SHERRI).  Another pathetic Al Adamson flick.

Al Adamson! Heheheh...I like his lousy pictures! I read a line in the book SHOCK O RAMA that if you gave Al a dozen rotton lemons,he'd use them to make rotton lemonade.

I use to have a vhs of Nurse Sherri too...and a little while later I bought a generic looking tape called HANDS of DEATH...and,of course, it was NURSE SHERRI again!

My favorite film of his is the wild biker flik SATAN'S SADISTS...closley followed by the bizzare DRACULA vs. FRANKENSTIEN and HORRORS of the BLOOD MONSTERS.

Just watching Al's trailer for HORROR of the BLOOD MONSTERS is like watching 3 or 4 movie clips in one...as he used stock footage in the film from an old Philipino caveman flik,ONE MILLION BC and new footage with John Carridine, plus a goofy prolouge with vampires (the one in the trailer with the big sideburns is Al himself.)

That's got to be one of the coolest trailers I have ever seen!

The narration is by Brother Theodore!

I have a few others in my DVD collection:  BLOOD OF GHASTLY HORROR; BRAIN OF BLOOD; and HELL'S BLOODY DEVILS.  Around the same time I bought BLACK VOODOO on VHS, I also bought MEAN MOTHER (which he directed under a pseudonym, and I believe is now available on DVD from the same company that released FIVE BLOODY GRAVES / NURSE SHERRI) and BLACK HEAT (which has been released under several alternate titles such as THE MURDER GANG and U.S. VICE).  But I sold or gave away all my VHS movies.

I guess I must be an Al Adamson fan, but it's difficult for me to admit it!

ahah, "Nurse Sherri" looks brilliant. never heard of it.

I've just had a look on amazon. they've got this double pack, plus another compilation where it's billed as "The Possesion Of..." with 3 other films. might have to investigate.

Nurse Sherri (like some of you I have the Black Voodoo VHS) is actually one of Al's more watchable films, with probably Blazing Stewardesses being the most adeptly-made that I've seen.  I'll be honest, though I dearly love the posters, Blood of Ghastly Horror and Brain of Blood were somewhat disappointing in terms of entertainment value.  Al's Dracula vs. Frankenstein is another great schlock title.  Al is king of the patch jobs, and some of the patchwork is downright bizarre!
