The Burgomaster

This is another extremely low-budget (i.e., it looks like a bunch of friends with some video equipment made it) movie that is included in Mill Creek's TOMB OF TERRORS 50 movie pack.  I didn't hate it as much as most of the other movies I've watched from this 50 movie pack, but it was still annoying.  The filmmakers copy everyone from Tarantino to Woo to Scorsese and never seem to find their own style.

The plot involves some small-time gangsters trying to recover a cd that contains incriminating evidence from one of their ex-partners.  The problem is, the guy had it surgically implanted in his sister's torso (???).  The main hit men are basically copies of Travolta and Jackson in PULP FICTION.  There is also a band of female assassins dressed in black leather, sort of like the Asian gang in KILL BILL.  There are a lot of poorly choreographed fights, shootings, and plenty of "F word" usage.  In one scene, you can see the reflection of what appears to be a member of the film crew in a car window.  And for portions of the movie, the audio is not properly synched, so the dialogue doesn't match the movement of the actors' lips.

Toward the end of the movie, one character mentions that the movie is only an hour long (which is thankfully true) and they only have a couple more scenes, so they better get on with it!

As bad as this is, it isn't boring and I guess I might have been proud to be involved in it as an amateur effort.  A mostly dumb, but painless 58 minutes.

So they told the audience how much longer the movie is?

LOL.

I just saw the same thing in "The Giant Gila Monster".
