Kester Pelagius

His father murdered, his mother exiled, the boy Nero, caught up in political machinations beyond his control, is sent to live on a farm as a slave.  So begins this second entry in the "Imperium" series.  If you saw the first installment, Augustus, but have yet to see Nero you may have some questions about the historical accuracy of this installment.  All is covered in this review, up now at Mise-en-scene Crypt.

Should the above links fail to work the Nero review is also accessible via the Mise-en-scene Crypt archive blog here.

They definitely played fast and loose with the facts by your account. I've read the histories of Nero, and about all anyone can say in his favor is that he probably didn't set fire to Rome as people believed. Everything else they accused him of, he probably did.
