so, i'm currently watching demons 3: the ogre, and i'm struck by how little this film is like the previous demons films. i know, it's not officially a demons sequel.

on the other hand, you know what it does remind me a lot of? lucio fulci's the house by the cemetery. however, house was actually made 7 years after ogre. now, that's not to say ogre couldn't have been marketed as a sequel to house, when you consider that the unofficial demons 5 (la maschera del demonio) and 6 (il gato nero) were made two years before the unofficial demons 4 (the sect).

back to the comparisons between the ogre and the house by the cemetery. you have the family coming to a new town, a mother, father, and son, a babysitter who gets attacked, and a monster who lives in the basement. oh, and the dad? same actor in both films, paolo malco. i mean, you could also say they were both italian productions, but that's beside the point.

man, those italians spun one confusing web sometimes.

I thought The Church was Demons 3.

Have I missed something?

there is, officially, not a third demons film. the church was going to be a third film in the series, but for reasons that have gone unexplained in the interviews i've heard, was not marketed as such.
