CNN just announced Paul Newman has died at 83.

He's been battling cancer and looked really frail in news reports this summer. :bluesad:

What a shame . . . they don't make them like that anymore.

Wow...That's a shame.  Iconic Hollywood actor!  He will be missed...
He learned almost too late that man is a feeling creature... and because of it, the greatest in the universe........

I read that early this morning, he hasn't looked well for a while, I'm sure he is much happier now. Rest well, Paul.

Menard

One hell of an actor, one hell of a person. He will not only be remembered for the roles he has given us, but for what he has done for a lot of people. A truly wonderful person.

My condolences to his family.  In addition to his fine acting and race car driving and charitable work (even though I don't agree with his politics) he and his wife Joanne Woodward lived a scandal free life.  Truly remarkable in Hollywood.

I didn't know he even passed away until later in the morning as I was watching Formula 1 qualifying and heard that he passed away.  A fine actor and a fine racing co-owner.  He will truly be missed.

This has been a bad year for celebrity deaths. Newman was a surprise, but unlike some others, not a shock. He hasn't been looking well.

Think I'll make a salad and watch Slap Shot.
